Kelvin Gomez is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon with a special interest in non-surgical breast augmentation and body sculpting.

He graduated from the University of Cardiff, South Wales, UK, and trained on the All-Wales Higher Surgical Programme, before undertaking a Fellowship at the Welsh Burns and Plastics Surgery Unit in Morriston, South Wales. His post-graduate doctorate was undertaken at the Cardiff Academic Breast Unit and involved research into molecular markers and their early detection in breast cancer patients. Along with his original papers, he also presented data on behalf of the ALMANAC Trialists Group at both national and international meetings during his period of research.

Kelvin's general surgical interests include Breast Cancer Surgery, Therapeutic Mammoplasty, Breast Reductions, and Nipple Reconstructions. Special cosmetic interests include Breast and Body Sculpting, Male Chest and Calf Enhancement and Facial Fillers.

Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Kelvin was educated in Malaysia, Australia and the United Kingdom, and had a very cosmopolitan upbringing, but it is in Cardiff, and specifically Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan that he has finally laid down some roots. He is employed by the Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust and is based in Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny.

Sumit Goyal is a private Consultant Breast Surgeon at Vale Healthcare, South Wales' premier private clinics and private hospital for the treatment of breast conditions including breast cancer in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Sumit's breast care clinics are primarily from the Cardiff Bay Clinic in south Wales. Mr Goyal has a special interest in all aspects of Breast Diseases including oncoplastic breast surgery. Sumit trained in Cardiff Breast Unit and was appointed a Consultant in Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust in 2003 and is currently the Lead Clinician for Cardiff Breast Services in South Wales..

Sumit is committed to provide the highest level of care in breast diseases and manages over 100 breast cancers every year. In addition to his NHS work, he is a part of the Breast Screening programme of Wales. He keeps abreast with the latest technological developments in the treatment of breast disease and has been a part of major international trials in breast cancer. He can offer surgical treatment for benign and malignant breast conditions, reconstructive breast surgery and sentinel node biopsy. In fact he is a tutor on the New Start Programme, the Department of Health national training programme for sentinel node biopsy. Sumit is also a honorary lecturer in Cardiff Medical School and is involved in teaching students, nurses and young surgeons.

Sumit works in close association with Dr Philippa Young, Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in breast radiology and provides a Rapid Access Breast Clinic for rapid and accurate assessment and diagnosis of breast problems as a one stop clinic in a multi-disciplinary set-up.

Consultant Radiologist (Breast)

Dr Philippa Young is a private Consultant Breast Radiologist at Vale Healthcare, South Wales' leading private clinics and private hospital in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. Philippa has particular expertise in all areas of breast imaging, including MRI, image-guided biopsy and excision techniques.

Philippa studied medicine at Queens’ College, Cambridge University, and spent her clinical years at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, qualifying in 1991. During her postgraduate years in London, she specialised in internal medicine obtaining her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians. Subsequently, Philippa undertook diagnostic radiology training on the All Wales Higher Training Scheme, developing a special interest in breast imaging, obtaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists. She also has membership of the RCR special interest Breast Group.

A seven year Consultant Radiologist post in Somerset ensued, involving both symptomatic breast work and also breast cancer screening work within the NHS Breast Screening Programme. During this post, Philippa established a breast MRI service for Somerset, and was also heavily involved in reconfiguring the breast service to provide more timely and appropriate assessment of patients with breast problems.

Philippa’s commitment to enabling the provision of  high quality breast diagnostic services has continued since her return to the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan region, some 2 years ago. Currently, Philippa works for the Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust, at the University Hospital of Wales, as well as the Welsh breast cancer screening service, namely Breast Test Wales. Philippa has extensive experience in mammography interpretation, breast ultrasound, breast MRI and image-guided breast biopsy, and can also provide benign breast lump excision under local anaesthetic. She also teaches these skills to other doctors and medical personnel.

Dr Philippa Young works closely with Mr Goyal, Consultant Breast Surgeon and Lead Clinician for the Cardiff and Vale NHS Breast Service, contributing to an expert multidisciplinary approach to the management of all breast related problems.
