Interventional Procedures

A large proportion of ENT surgery can be undertaken using local anaesthetic day case techniques, especially diagnostics.

Some examples of conditions which can benefit from day case surgery are

• flexible laryngoscopy (vocal cord examination)
• ear care ( treatment of infection)
• grommet insertion
• nasal endoscopy
• nasal cautery
• sinus washout
• minor head & neck "lumps & bumps"

At the present time general anaesthesia cannot be undertaken at the clinic however this will change with the opening of our new hospital at Hensol in 2009.

Our ENT consultants are supported by specialist radiologists who provide diagnostic imaging and have full access to Ultrasound, CT and MRI scanning. Radiology results are usually available within 24hrs of the examination.
