Presentations:

19.00 Functional bowel disorders and pelvic floor problems - Mr Dean Harris
An update on recent developments in this field with emphasis on symptoms, differential diagnosis, when to refer and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach. A full range of conditions will be explored.

19.30 Enhanced recovery after colorectal surgery - implications for primary care – Mr Umesh Khot
An increasing number of patients having colorectal and orthopaedic surgery are managed along Enhanced Recovery principles with earlier discharge and return to full activity. This talk will focus on the safety of Enhanced Recovery, the recognition and management of complications after colorectal surgery and how primary care can help initiate the ERAS pathway for the benefit of their patients.

20.00 Colorectal cancer – working towards early diagnosis – Mr Mark Davies
This presentation will include an update on the Bowel Screening Wales programme with proposed changes, and the management of colorectal cancer. The talk will also consider who to refer early, the relevance of family history, and who warrants screening?
