Mr Andrew Allman is a Consultant Gynaecologist and brings vast experience to his private obstetrics and gynaecology prectice at Vale Healthcare - South Wales' leading private clinics and private hospital for treatment of obstetric and gynaecological conditions. He has been a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend since 1996.

He qualified from the Welsh National School of Medicine in 1984. After junior house jobs in North Wales and senior house jobs in Rotherham, Wrexham and the Wirral, he joined the North West Thames Obstetrics & Gynaecology training scheme.

During his training in London, he worked with Professor Philip Steer and completed three years research for his MD on the measurement of fetal head to cervix force during labour. This yielded a significant insight into the effects of child birth on the pelvic floor.

After completing his research, he continued to work as a lecturer in obstetrics and gynaecology at Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School and the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, until moving back to Wales in 1996.

Mr Allman has a wide experience in managing all gynaecological conditions. He has a special interest in urogynaecology, particularly the effects of child birth on the pelvic floor, and “one-stop diagnosis” having used transvaginal ultrasound in his clinics for the last 12 years.

He is a skilled laparoscopic surgeon and many conditions are managed laparoscopically. He has 10 years experience of transvaginal tapes for stress incontinence and performs advanced mesh repairs for complex or recurrent pelvic floor prolapse.

His other interests including horse-riding, skiing and cricket.

Mr Sanjay Chawathe

Mr Sanjay Chawathe is a Consultant Gynaecologist with specialist experience in urogynaecology and laparoscopic surgery. Mr Chawathe delivers private surgery and private treatment at Vale Healthcare - south Wales' leading private hospital and private clinics - for a full range of gynaecological conditions and provides treatments including laparoscopic hysterectomy (keyhole hysterectomy).  

After completing his undergraduate medical training at King Edward Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, & Seth G. S. Medical School, Mr Chawathe qualified as a doctor in 1989.

He started training in obstetrics and gynaecology in 1989 and was awarded a diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology in 1991. Upon completing his residency program, he passed MD (O & G) and FCPS exams in 1992. He took his MRCOG examination in 1998 and completed a welsh deanery training program to achieve certificate of completion specialist training (CCST).

During his specialist training, he developed skills in laparoscopic surgery and urogynaecology. Subsequently, he was appointed as a Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician with special interest in urogynaecology, at Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil in 2004, and more recently joined the team at Vale Healthcare as a private Consultant Gynaecologist serving Cardiff and all South Wales. 

Mr Chawathe is a general gynaecologist with a wide range of experience in gynaecological surgery. His clinical interests include female urinary Incontinence and vaginal prolapse surgery.

He conducts urodynamics assessment, stress urinary incontinence surgery including transvaginal tape (TVT) & trans-obturator tape (TOT) surgery. He also performs vaginal mesh repair surgery for advanced/recurrent vaginal prolapse. He is a trained laparoscopic surgeon and performs laparoscopic hysterectomies for benign gynaecological conditions along with other laparoscopic procedures such as treatment of endometriosis, adhesiolysis, laparoscopic salpingectomy (removal of fallopian tube) and oophorectomy (removal of ovary). 

Mr Chawathe is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, British Medical Association, Medical Protection Society, British Society of Urogynaecology, UK Continence Society, and the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy.

Mr Jonathan Pembridge runs private Gynaecology clinics from Vale Healthcare's hospital in Hensol, nr Cardiff - the Vale Hospital. Jonathan was appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, South Wales in 2004.

He first qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine, Cardiff in 1994, undertook following training posts in South Wales and London, and held a research post for 2 years at the Cardiff Assisted Reproduction Unit. His specialist training followed on the all Wales training rotation.

Mr Pembridge holds the joint Royal College of Radiologists and Obstetricians and Gynaecologists diploma in ultrasound. He has significant experience in counselling of and management of high risk pregnancies and regularly performs amniocentesis procedures at the Royal Glamorgan hospital.

Mr Pembridge would be happy to perform early pregnancy ultrasounds and amniocentesis after prior discussion of the individual case at our state of the art facility in the Vale Hospital, part of Vale Healthcare, Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales.

He has significant experience in the management of benign gynaecological conditions including the management of pelvic pain, menstrual irregularities, pelvic floor prolapse, subfertility and investigation of recurrent miscarriage.

Mr Pembridge is a competent laparoscopic and endoscopic surgeon for the diagnosis and management of pelvic pain, endometriosis, polyps, heavy periods and ovarian cysts.

Married he enjoys playing golf, surfing at local beaches and snowboarding as a winter sport.

Dr Anusha Sivasuriam is a Consultant Gynaecologist who runs private Gynaecology clinics at Vale Healthcare in south Wales. Anusha obtained her medical degree from The Faculty of Medicine Colombo, one of the most prestigious universities in Sri Lanka. Having been awarded the Master of Surgery she then moved to the UK for further specialist training; starting her training as a Specialist registrar in the Oxford Deanery and then moving to Wales where she completed her training. Dr Sivasuriam is now a Consultant in Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales.

As a private consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology at Vale Healthcare - South Wales' leading private clinics and private hospital - Dr Sivasuriam specialises in the management of a wide variety of gynaecological disorders including the management of menstrual disturbances in all age groups with the use of cutting edge technology. Dr Sivasuriam also performs gynaecological scanning and has specialist training in laparoscopic surgery; used for the management of a wide variety of pathologies ex. removal of ovarian cysts, ovaries, diseased fallopian tubes and removal of endometriosis etc.

Dr Sivasuriam is a certified Colopscopist dealing with cervical smear abnormalities by using Colposcopy for diagnosis and treatment of pre cancer abnormalities of the cervix. She is the lead clinician dealing with early pregnancy problems in her department at Prince Charles Hospital. She also offers her services in general gynaecology performing surgeries such as abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies (for uterine prolapses).

Dr Anusha Sivasuriam is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists UK, and has also been awarded a FRCS by the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and a MRCP by the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. Anusha has also recently been offered a fellowship of the Sri Lanka College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Dr Sivasuriam is actively involved in research and training, with several publications to her name. She passionately believes in the management of menstrual disorders in a one stop clinic where women are assessed, scanned and treated in the same sitting. Her current research project is a reflection of the above.

Mr Sean Watermeyer

Mr Sean Watermeyer is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant, South Wales and a private Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Vale Healthcare, near Cardiff. He qualified from the University of Wales in 1990 and is a member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In addition he has a First Class honours degree in Genetics and is dually qualified as a GP.

He completed his MD (University of Wales) research thesis on Pelvic Organ Blood Flow using transvaginal ultrasound scanning in 2005 after spending 2 years working at the Cardiff Assisted Reproduction Unit carrying out IVF and IUI cycles. He is a trained Colposcopist (dealing with abnormal smears), and carries out regular colposcopy and hysteroscopic / laparoscopic / general gynaecological surgery in his NHS practice.

He examines on the Msc course in transvaginal ultrasound at University Hospital of Wales and has a special interest in early pregnancy, the menopause and infertility. Mr Watermeyer is widely published and presented at both national and international conferences.

He is married with 3 children.
