Who will see my child?

Why do children need a specialist Children’s Physiotherapist?

Children grow very quickly and their bodies are changing constantly. Their anatomy and body systems are different and their learning, emotional, behavioural and motivational mechanisms differ from adults all of which can impact on their ability to participate in their assessment and treatment effectively.

An essential part of physiotherapy for children is that they are engaged and motivated in the process which is done through play or adapted physical activity to be fun and interesting. This requires a physiotherapist who has had post graduate training and years of experience in ‘Paediatric (Children’s) Physiotherapy’.

What age of children can be seen?

Babies from birth and children and young people up to the age of 18 years.
