Sarah Hale is a private Consultant Ophthalmologist at Vale Healthcare, South Wales' premier private hospital and private eye clinics in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. As a private ophthalmology consultant, Sarah practices her private ophthalmology clinics primarily from the Cardiff Bay Clinic in south Wales. Sarah qualified from Southampton University and undertook her ophthalmology training at the Oxford Eye Hospital and the University Hospital of Wales Hospital in Cardiff, South Wales. Sarah received higher training during her fellowship in Medical Retina at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. 

Sarah Hale now has expertise as a general ophthalmologist and specializes in medical retina problems including diabetes, age-related macular degeneration (ARMD) and inflammatory eye conditions.

Dan Morris is a Consultant Ophthalmologist. He qualified from St Andrews and Manchester Universities, followed by general ophthalmology training in Scotland and the North of England. He then undertook a fellowship in oculoplastic surgery at the prestigious Vancouver orbital clinic before locating to south wWales and joining the team at Vale Healthcare as a private ophthalmology consultant delivering expert eye surgery at our state of the art Vale Hospital near Cardiff, South Wales.

Dan is passionate about world blindness, running an eye project in Kenya and recently starting a community link with the people of Tororo in Uganda.

He is also an international authority on sporting eye injuries and high altitude eye problems. He collected the highest ever eye data on Mount Everest and has published widely in this area.

Dan is now a Consultant at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, South Wales, specialising in cataract, oculoplastic, orbital and lacrimal surgery, alongside his private ophthalmology consultant role at Vale Heathcare, South Wales' leading private clinic and private hospital.

 


Mr Mohammed Muhtaseb

Mr Mohammed Muhtaseb is a Consultant Ophthalmic and Cornea Surgeon, who specialises in refractive surgery. He is a Consultant and Founding Surgeon at iLase Swansea and iLase London, and performs refractive surgery at Vale Healthcare's Cardiff Bay Clinic, South Wales' leading private clinic for eye surgery.

Mohammed has worked as a Consultant Ophthalmic and Cornea Surgeon at Singleton Hospital in Swansea, and as an Honorary Clincal Teacher in the University of Wales in Swansea.

Mohammed has also developed a wealth of research, teaching and surgical experience in posts including being a recognised teacher for PgDip/Msc Cataract and Refractive Surgery (in the University of Ulster).


Mr Kadaba Rajkumar

Mr Kadaba Rajkumar is a Consultant Ophthalmologist who practices privately from Vale Healthcare's Cardiff Bay Clinic, in Cardiff (south Wales).

Mr Kadaba Rajkumar is also Consultant Ophthalmologist and Honorary lecturer at The University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff and the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend from March 2001.

He trained at Nottingham Queens Medical Centre and Birmingham Midland Eye Centre as a specialist registrar before completing his training with a highly regarded glaucoma fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.

Before coming to the UK in 1996 Mr Rajkumar has extensive experience as a consultant abroad both in India and the Middle East. He is a member of BMA, Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the American academy of Ophthalmology.

Currently He is an expert in Cataract surgery, lens exchange surgery and Glaucoma aside from practising General Ophthalmology. He performs lasers for glaucoma,diabetic retinopathy and other conditions.

At Princess of Wales Hospital Mr Rajkumar and his team of orthoptists turned glaucoma practitioners were recipients of an award in a national competition which reduced waiting times for glaucoma patients from 12 months to six weeks. The team was featured in HTV wales as a “ Beacon of excellence” in clinical care in August 2004.

Mr Raghu Ram is a Consultant Ophthalmologist, who practices from Vale Healthcare's Cardiff Bay Clinic - the leading private clinic for healthcare in Cardiff and south Wales. Mr Raghu Ram can see patients with all ophthalmic eye conditions, and specialises in Muscular degeneration, Retinal Disease, Lachrymal disorders, Diabetic eye disease, and Cataract Surgery.

Mr Ragu Ram completed his specialist Ophthalmic training in the UK in 1995 having worked in St George's Hospital, London and Hereford hospitals in the West Midlands. Currently, Mr Ram is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, for the Pontypridd and Rhondda NHS Trust, a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon for Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust, a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon for North Glamorgan NHS Trust, and an Honorary Clinical Tutor, University Hospital of Wales.

Mr Ram's specialist interests include small incision cataract surgery, diabetic eye diseases, and medical retinal conditions including macular degeneration and lachrymal disorders and laser treatment for watering eyes. Mr Ram has been actively involved in the Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Service which is successfully running on All Wales basis since 2003. He has also been instrumental in setting up a new procedure for the treatment of watery eyes (Laser DCR) with the help of lasers along with his ENT colleagues.

Mr Ram is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a member of the British Medical Association.


Mr Rob Walters

Mr Rob Walters is a Consultant Ophthalmologist, who provides private cataract surgery and runs private eye clinics at Vale Healthcare, South Wales premier private hospital and private clinics in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Before relocating to South Wales, Rob qualified in London, UK in 1982, and carried out his ophthalmic training at St Thomas' Hospital, London, Southampton Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. Mr Walters was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the University Hospital of Wales in 1992 and was Clinical Director of the Cardiff Eye Unit, between 1994 and 1998. He has been an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists since 1995, and also Regional Advisor since 2001.

Rob practices general ophthalmology with particular interests in cataract surgery, squints, neuro-ophthalmology, and botulinum toxin treatment.

Rob has research interests in Neuro-ophthalmology, and ocular motility, and has current memberships with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Royal Society of Medicine.
