Consultant Ophthalmologist

Mr Rob Walters is a Consultant Ophthalmologist, who provides private cataract surgery and runs private eye clinics at Vale Healthcare, South Wales premier private hospital and private clinics in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Before relocating to South Wales, Rob qualified in London, UK in 1982, and carried out his ophthalmic training at St Thomas' Hospital, London, Southampton Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. Mr Walters was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the University Hospital of Wales in 1992 and was Clinical Director of the Cardiff Eye Unit, between 1994 and 1998. He has been an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists since 1995, and also Regional Advisor since 2001.

Rob practices general ophthalmology with particular interests in cataract surgery, squints, neuro-ophthalmology, and botulinum toxin treatment.

Rob has research interests in Neuro-ophthalmology, and ocular motility, and has current memberships with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Royal Society of Medicine.
