Dr Sharmila Khot

Sharmila Khot is a specialist in pain management and a consultant anaesthetist at Vale Healthcare, your first choice private pain management clinics in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales. Sharmila also practises at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff and is a Senior Lecturer with Cardiff University. Her approach as a specialist pain management consultant is holistic, individually tailored and based on the bio-psycho-social model. This involves judicious use of medications, injections, physiotherapy and psychological support (as appropriate).
Within the field of pain medicine her special interest is management of neuropathic pain and persistent pain following surgery. However she is experienced in all aspects of management of mechanical back pain and spinal interventions for relief of pain and has helped patients from across South Wales to manage a varying range and degree of pain or discomfort.
In addition to her Anaesthetic and Pain management qualifications, she is a Fellow of The Royal College of Anaesthetists and a founder member of the Faculty of Pain Medicine. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and has been involved with both national and international presentations on basic sciences and clinical pain management. She is an educational supervisor for advanced training in pain medicine in South Wales.
Sharmila is able to offer her expertise in interventional pain procedures such as epidurals, facet joint intra-articular injections or medial branch blocks, radiofrequency denervation, sympathetic blocks and trigger point injections. She strongly believes in offering complete multidisciplinary pain management through close links with referring therapists and clinicians.
Dr Ashish Wagle
Consultant in Pain Management & Anaesthetics

Ash Wagle is a consultant anaesthetist who is a specialist in pain management. As our specialist pain management consultant at Vale Healthcare, Ash delivers private treatment for patients throughout South Wales using all modalities of conventional medicine including Medications, Injections etc. He also utilises the expertise of physiotherapists and psychologists to try and decrease not only the pain, but also the disability associated with the pain.
Ash Wagle has a particular interest in Simple Mechanical Back pain and spinal interventions for relief of pain. He is a Consultant Anaesthetist and Pain Specialist at Royal Glamorgan Hospital. He is also the Clinical Director for Anaesthetics, Intensive Care, Theatres, HSDU and Pain at Cwm Taf NHS trust, which includes the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospitals in South Wales. He is also a Clinical Lecturer with the Cardiff School of Medicine.
In addition to his Anaesthetic and Pain management qualifications, he is a Fellow Royal College of Anaesthetists. He has many national and international presentations to his name and teaches on courses for surgical and anaesthetic examinations. He has also been the lead clinician for Acute Pain and was partly responsible for the establishment of acute pain service in Royal Glamorgan Hospital. Ash performs all the routine pain intervention procedures such as epidurals, facet joint injections, medial branch blocks and radiofrequency denervation, sympathetic blocks, trigger point injections, selective nerve root blocks etc.
Ash strongly believes in offering complete multidisciplinary pain management through close links with referring therapists and clinicians.
