Welcome to the Pain Management Clinic at Vale Healthcare

The Vale Healthcare Pain Management Clinic is based at The Vale Hospital and Cardiff Bay Clinic, and provides an out-patient service to assist people who have both acute and chronic pain.

The pain clinic is lead by Dr Ashish Wagle, a Consultant Anaesthetist and Pain Management Specialist. We deliver a commitment to the compassionate understanding of patients in pain and to the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of pain-related disorders. The aim of the clinic is to help people improve their pain relief and coping abilities, and to reduce their anxiety through knowledge and understanding.

The Pain Management Clinic, located within the The Vale Hospital and Cardiff Bay Clinic - uses the latest in clinical and diagnostic procedures; Dr Wagle will review your previous treatment, conduct a physical examination and provide a thorough evaluation of your pain condition. This directs the development of a comprehensive, individualised treatment plan, which can involve multidisciplinary services, including psychological and rehabilitation specialists.

We aim to provide evaluation and treatment to patients with a broad range of acute and chronic pain syndromes. These include, but are not limited to, acute lumbar disc herniation, cervical syndrome, myofascial syndromes, acute bursitis, migraine headache, fibromyalgia, chronic neck and shoulder pain, degenerative disc disease (cervical and lumbar), phantom limb pain, incision pain, abdominal and pelvic pain, nerve injury pain, diabetic, alcoholic and traumatic, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), sacro-iliac joint dysfunction, cranial neuralgias, myofascial pain and central pain states.
