Private GP service

Vale Healthcare is pleased to be able to provide a private GP service, led by GP Dr Paul Williams, and available at the Cardiff Bay Clinic .

We understand that often there can be a wait to see your GP, so this private GP service is open to all patients, regardless of whether you are already registered at a GP practice locally. We aim to provide rapid access appointments, helping you to get quick and convenient access to a GP when you need it the most.

Dr Williams is an experienced general practitioner, who is supported by our hospital's nursing and reception staff.

How do I make an appointment?

Simply call our Bookings department on 029 2083 6714, and we will be able to provide you with the earliest convenient appointment.

When can I get an appointment?

Typically we run clinics on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but we are flexible. If those days really are not convenient we will try to make arrangements to see you at another time.

What if I need investigations?

We have access to all the facilities at Vale Healthcare's sites. Most investigations including bloods, ECG or radiology can be done at the clinic on the same day so there will be very little delay.

What if I need consultant referral?

The consultants at Vale Healthcare cover a full range of medical specialties, and all work on-site where the private GP clinics take place. This makes consultant referral easy and rapid, and we aim to arrange a consultant appointment the same week.

What if I need medication?

We have an in house pharmacy, medication can be prescribed and dispensed to you straight away or you can take the prescription away to get the medication in a pharmacy of your choice.
