Rheumatology Clinics
Welcome to the Rheumatology Clinic at Vale Healthcare
Rheumatology is the medical management of rheumatological disorders. This covers a wide spectrum of conditions from soft tissue disorders such as frozen shoulders and tennis elbow, through the different classes of arthritis to multisystem disorders such as vasculitis and diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus. The main types of arthritis that a rheumatologist would manage include rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and gout. Rheumatologists are also experienced in the management of metabolic bone disease such as osteoporosis.
The treatment of rheumatological disorders has drastically changed in the last few years with the advent of new treatments such as anti-TNF therapies, and rheumatlogists are experts in the management of conditions using these therapies.
Vale Healthcare's Rheumatology Clinic is based both at The Vale Hospital and Cardiff Bay Clinic. Contact us for more information on available appointments and locations.
