Mr Sean Connelly
Sean Connelly provides shockwave therapy for chronic tendonitis at Vale Healthcare's Cardiff Bay Clinic.
Sean is currently the Head Physiotherapist at Football League Championship club Cardiff City. Having qualified as a Physiotherapist from Leeds University in 1993 Sean went into Professional football where he played professionally for 12 years for Stockport County, Wolverhampton Wanderers,Tranmere Rovers and Rusden and Diamonds. On retirement from the game Sean became Head Physiotherpist at Cardiff City Football Club.
Sean has a special interest in functional movement screening of elite level athtletes,tendinopathies and position specific functional rehabilitation of professional footballers. Sean's interest in tendinopathies has lead him to develop specific treatment protocols for all tendinopathies using Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ECSWT) in combination with manual treatment techniques and rehabilitation.
Sean is currently studying for a Masters degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine at the Cardiff Metropolitan University
