‘Hard Hats At The Ready’ for new South Wales Hospital
Vale Healthcare has swapped its white coats for hard hats as it celebrates the start of construction of its new innovative 25-bed hospital development in Hensol - Cardiff-based Stradform Ltd (part of VINCI Construction UK Ltd) has commenced work on making the multi million pound hospital a reality.
The site in the Vale of Glamorgan will be a hive of activity for the next 12 months as one of the biggest construction projects currently in South Wales takes shape, which when finished will offer 25 en-suite private bedrooms, two high dependency (HDU) beds, radiological imaging, six consulting rooms and two, digital laminar flow operating theatres. The design and operational management of the Hospital will achieve the best possible infection control.
The new Vale Hospital will provide a full range of services, including orthopedics, general surgery and cosmetics, using the latest and most advanced healthcare treatments and technology in an idyllic rural location.
Chief Executive of Vale Healthcare, Lis Neil says: “It is very exciting to finally be on site and the second stage of our development plan. Whilst Stradform was chosen to build the hospital, this major project has also been made possible thanks to landowners Leekes, who recognised the potential for the hospital, therefore making the land purchase possible; and Cooke & Arkwright for putting the deal in place to ensure the hospital plans could move forward.”
The new hospital will be situated amid 3.4 acres of parkland estate on the Hensol Castle site, adjacent to the Vale Hotel Golf and Spa Resort.
